About Us
We are a proudly independent gallery, founded by a local artist with a passion for supporting fellow creatives. Gallery Thirteen began as a dream to take my own art practice to the next level—but just as importantly, to create a space where other local artists could thrive.
Our mission is to champion emerging talent by providing a platform to exhibit, sell, and share their work with a wider audience. This gallery is about community, opportunity, and elevating the incredible creativity right here on our doorstep.
Our Story
Gallery Thirteen is a contemporary art space rooted in the heart of Haslemere, with a passion for abstract, abstract landscapes, and expressive interpretations of the world around us. We work with a curated mix of local emerging artists and established names, offering an ever-evolving exhibition of bold, thought-provoking work.
The gallery is run by me, Marty—a full-time, internationally selling artist. Creativity has always been at the core of my life. I began in the music industry, touring the UK and Europe in bands, before shifting fully into visual art. Over the years, my practice has grown from weekend markets and teaching college-level art to becoming a fully immersive career. The gallery is the culmination of that journey: one central space to house not only my work, but a growing community of artists.
My studio (Studio Thirteen) sits just behind the gallery. This is where I paint most days—many of the pieces you see on the walls are created right here. The space also hosts small, intimate workshops throughout the year for those looking to explore or deepen their creative practice.
From the moment I stepped into this space, I knew it had to be more than just a personal studio—it needed to serve a bigger purpose. That’s why we’ve built a platform that gives visibility to incredible local talent while also showcasing nationally and internationally recognised artists. We want Gallery Thirteen to be a vibrant, welcoming place where creativity and connection meet.
We’re building something meaningful—not just for myself, but for Haslemere’s growing art scene.
We can’t wait to welcome you to Gallery Thirteen.
